Nile - Globe Defying Rivers
The Nile river is a massive north running river. It's huge. Wiki tells us that it runs from Tanzania all the way up to Egypt. The problem Eric Dubay (God save his soul) suggests is that this defies a globe. The northern part of Africa is on one side of the curvature, and the southern side is below the other side of the curvature.
This is the logical tilt needed, heeding no scientific explanation to get the Nile, and Africa upside down, to have it all running in that direction. The problem is, this is NOT the way the world is. The south pole, would melt, and trade places with Australia.
The image above accurately depicts the way the world is. There's no way around it. The Nile defies curvature.
It's gotta be the moon. They told us the moon controls tides, right? Nope, sorry. The logical explanation is not the moon. After all, rivers have to run day and night, from source to source. What is the logical explanation? Give up? Location on a globe, due to gravity, does not control where land is tilted. Well, this sounds nice to laymen. However, we just looked at a map and proved the Nile spans the curve.
Want to make things a little more confusing? America has MANY south running rivers, South America south running rivers, and Canada many north running rivers.
Does this disprove a globe? No, of course not, but it does make my head hurt. At best it disproves logic, and proves we don't live in a Godless world, where God himself is void of controlling some things all on his own.
Any logical answers would be greatly appreciated. Not to say God isn't logic, of course.
Thanks for reading.

Hi, I had to privately message you on YouTube as your comment wasn't on the video but I have no idea if you would read it so I'm posting my reply to you here too. Sorry, but I can't see any way to privately message you on here. By all means, delete this when you're done with it.
ReplyDeleteYou asked about Enoch, she'ol, etc. Here's my response:
The original meaning of "she'ol" is "pit" or "grave". The idea of activity in the grave came about whilst the Jews were exiled in Babylon but it wasn't an original meaning.
Abraham's bosom is clearly a parable that Jesus used to teach a point. He often used illustrations so people could understand. Sometimes he would explain the actual meaning later on to his disciples as even they didn't understand everything.
"No one has ever ascended to Heaven" - Jesus (John 3:13)
As Jesus said this and it was recorded in Holy Scripture, we can be sure that NO human has ever been to Heaven. So where did Enoch and Elijah go? Let's look at them individually:
Enoch:
"Enoch walked with God. But then he was not, because God took him." - (Genesis 5:24)
As you can see, there is nothing in that sentence to say Enoch went to Heaven. it just says God took him away. That's the old testament. In the new testament, we read this about Enoch:
"By faith, Enoch was taken away, so that he wouldn't see death and he was not found because God translated him." - (Hebrews 11:5)
But later, in the same book, we read this about Enoch (listed with Noah, Abraham and Sarah):
"These all died in faith." - (Hebrews 11:13)
So, what scripture is telling us is that God took Enoch and transported him to a safe place so he wouldn't see death for the moment. But eventually (like everyone), he did die as scripture confirms. And, like every dead person, he is lying in his grave waiting for a resurrection as Jesus exclaimed. - (John 5:25)
Elijah:
"As they were walking and talking, suddenly a chariot of fire and horses of fire separated them and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into Heaven." - (2 Kings 2:11)
There's a few important things to remember here:
1. Elisha, who was with Elijah, refused to leave him so this was Yahweh LITERALLY separating the two.
2. In scripture, the word "heaven" can mean different things: The heavens can refer to the sky - (Genesis 6:7), the stars - (Matthew 24:29) and the place where Yahweh lives in the spiritual Heaven - (Deuteronomy 10:4)
3.Elisha (or anyone else) DID NOT think Elijah went to the Heaven where Yahweh and the angels live as when the sons of the prophets told Elisha they would look for Elijah, they decided to look for him on mountains and in Valleys but didn't find him. If Elisha knew Elijah had gone to Yahweh's heavenly home, he would not have let the men search for three days on earth! - (2 Kings 2:17)
4. The Bible shows that Elijah was still on earth AFTER he was taken by the whirlwind. Here's how:
Elijah preached in the time of King Jehoshaphat. When he left in the whirlwind, (2 Kings 2:11), Elisha took his place and carried on his work, preaching to Jehoshaphat, even speaking about Elijah in the past tense, so Elijah had definitely gone. - (2 Kings 3:11). After Jehoshaphat died, his son, Jehoram took over and Elijah (showing he was still alive) sent a letter to him. - (2 Chronicles 21:12 - 15)
This all shows that Elijah was simply given a job transfer and Elisha took his place. We must remember that Jesus was correct when he said no one has been to (Yahweh's Heaven). Not even King David. - (Acts 2:34)
So, reading the scriptures properly and as a whole, rather than isolating certain verses can easily answer any questions or doubts we might have about the Bible.
Hope this helps!
I have to admit that some of your comment is right on. After a close examination of Elijah we see he went up by whirlwind, and not in a chariot of fire. I had not been aware of the twisting, until now, at least not that I remember.
DeleteI'm not sure what to think of sheol being a false concept, and Abraham's bosom. For those scriptures to be right Abraham's bosom has to be something.
What do you make of John's prophecy in revelation? That books is VERY clear John was taken into heaven. He spoke to angels, and saw the Lord himself there.
Thanks for the comment.
