SELENE lunar orbiter, contracted by Mitsubishi, is said to have orbited the moon after a launch by JAXA (The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.)
The satellite, likely named after Selene, goddess of the moon, orbits the moon with a few key pieces of equipment.
Terrain Camera (TC)
Multi-band Imager (MI)
High Definition Television Cameras (HDTV)
Terrain Camera -Returns data for creating digital maps.
Multi-band Imager - A normal camera with near infrared. Great for dark environments.
High Definition Television cameras - A high definition television camera.
So why bother with the post? I came along a live video, streaming old content, which included images from SELENE
I wondered why the video looked fake. It looked massively 3D. The depth seems all off, there are unexplainable creases in the moon when the earth rises, there is a gloss on the moon, which can be seen in other improperly lit/shaded 3D models, and the earth itself looked like a 3D sphere modelled with software such as Maya.
I wondered, how could this be? Maybe it IS a 3D model. Farther research brought me to a video by JAXA themselves that claims the footage was taken with a telophoto lense.
Where is the telophoto lense?

"The most notable was a high-definition television (HDTV) camera with wide-angle and telephoto lenses and 2.2-megapixel imagers."
It's ON the high definition camera.
These fake looking, in-proper depthed surface videos, that look 3D, with a perfect sphere globe, all glossy and shiny, were taken by a high definition, regular camera?
To Red Sticker Blog, that seems like a load of garbage.
